Outline of Juno Kiwisaver scheme

Juno’s Kiwisaver philosophy revolves around keeping things simple – with a simple flat monthly fee structure depending on your balance, and three investment funds to choose from.

Fees

A key point of difference for Juno Kiwisaver is their fee structure. They charge one, low, monthly fee based on your balance – similar to a subscription fee like Netflix or Spotify. In comparison, a typical Kiwisaver provider may charge you an administration fee, a management fee and a performance fee.

Kiwisaver fees always reduce your return, so you need to be comfortable that there is a good reason to pay higher fees with another provider. If your current provider is delivering great returns, or top service, then the higher fee may be justified. But, it’s important to feel that you are getting value for money for the fee that you pay.

Simplicity is key when it comes to Juno Kiwisaver’s fee structure:

  • Free for under 18s or balances under $5k
  • $5 per month for balances $5k - $24,999
  • $15 per month for balances $25k - $49,999
  • $25 per month for balances $50k - $99,999
  • $50 per month for balances $100k - $1 million
(plus $100 per month for every million invested)

How do their fees measure up?

When comparing a Kiwisaver balance of $20,000 – the industry average fee was $21.98 per month*. Juno Kiwisaver, would charge $5 per month for the same balance.

*For a KiwiSaver balance of $20,000. Based on average annual growth fund fee Sorted Fund Finder as at 31 March 2019
